Rates for 1 hour mine tour

• Adults            $30.00

• Child (4-16)    $20.00

• Children 3 and under are free​​

• Mondays and Tuesdays may be restricted.

• Reservation are required to ensure a tour guide is available.

• Two tours are offered, but if one is booked by a small group, it may be the only option—unless your group is large enough to justify a second. 

• Available tours can be removed at anytime.

• Consideration for weather and driving conditions may affect tour availability.

Summer Hours (July - August)

• Hours 11am to 3:00pm

• Tours available on the hour 11am,12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm

• Please see booking calendar for available times and book a tour.

• Reservations are encouraged, walk-ins are welcome however tours fill up quickly.

• Available tour times can change for any reason, reservations are encouraged.

 

Things to consider for your visit

​

• The Capital Prize Gold Mine is a well lit and safe environment. The mine is inspected every day by staff and monitored by the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety.

• The average temperature inside the mine is 49° Fahrenheit so a light jacket and closed toe shoes are recommended.

• The adit (tunnel) is accessible over 1,000 feet into the mountainside for tours. The mine adit extends to 4,700 feet and work is being done to open additional tour space.

• The ground is level and the ceiling is generally above 6 feet so little stooping is required.

• Tours are approximately 60 minutes - please allow extra time to enjoy rock breaking, the historic sites or a picnic lunch outside the mine.

• Wheelchairs and strollers can have a difficult time in the mine due to the ore cart rail tracks and are are not suitable for the mine environment.
